The children worked collaboratively in partner teams to build a tower using only newspaper and tape. We defined the challenge, did some research and got the specs for our job. Then the children brainstormed ideas and chose their best one. Then they were assigned a partner to share their ideas with. The newly formed teams then decided on a collaborative idea and sketched their design. We then built the towers (see photos on Shutterfly). We measured the towers using our measurement skills we learned in math. Then we tested the strength and stability by putting them through a wind and earthquake test. We then thought about what could be improved to make the towers better.

Please be sure to check out the photos!
