The Wonderful Towers of Watts
We read two magnificent books about the Watts Towers outside of L.A. We learned a lot about the man who built the towers, Simon Rodia, while comparing the two books. Then we wrote an informative newspaper article about Simon Rodia and his towers. The children's writing is coming along nicely! We also learned that people can create big things from tiny pieces, take them apart and then reassemble them. We tried this idea out using tiny paper pieces to create different designs. Then we built a model of the Watts Towers.
