Even the booming sound of an eruption can harmful.   The loud cracks travel hundreds of miles.  The sounds can break glass!  The sounds can also be so loud it can cause hearing loss.

All of this destruction can happen very quickly when a volcano explodes.  Floods, mudslides, and lava flow can change how the land looks within just a few moments.
