Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower is located in Paris, France.   It is designed with wrought iron lattice.  Gustave Eiffel designed the towers.  He built it with steel to prove the fact that steel can be as strong as stones. The tower was built using 9441 tons of steel.  It was constructed in 1889 as the entrance to the World's Fair.

It stands over 1,000 feet and is 81 stories tall.    It is the second tallest structure in France. You must climb 1,665 steps to get to the top! From the top of the tower, you can see for up to 42 miles on a clear day.  The Eiffel Tower is the most visited monument in the world, with over 7 million visitors each year. Over 250 million people have visited the tower since its opening.    It really lights up at night with 20,000 light bulbs!

Wouldn't this make a grand entrance to walk through?
