Rivers are natural flowing bodies of water.  Rivers flow towards an ocean, a lake,  a sea or another river.  They are made of freshwater.

 

Rivers are larger than streams and brooks.  Rivers can flow down mountains and through valleys.  They can even carve canyons and gorges.  The end of the river is called a mouth.
