People to Watch

Suganth Kannan is only 17 years old, but he is making changes in the world.  Five years ago at a science meeting he presented his theory on how to predict earthquakes.  He was only 12 at the time!  He used his superb math and science skills to form  his model.  At the conference, he stated that an earthquake of a 5-9.0 magnitude would occur within six months.  Guess what?  It did!  The 6.0 quake happened and it was only 50 miles away from the spot that he predicted.   

Kannan says, "I want to provide warning to people to prevent damage to property and life," he explained.  

He also started his own company.  Some of his profits go to a place called the HAPPI farm.  "I am a big fan of animals, and HAPPI Farm takes care of orphaned horses and other animals and provide therapeutic help to patients of ADHD and ALS."

He also has a goal of writing children's books to encourage children to love math and science.

Does it get any better?  This just shows you that you should all believe in your dreams!  You never know--YOU might change the world some day!
